Groovy Gecko has been delivering live streams into Facebook for over 4 years using both our own technology platform and now as a launch partner for Facebook Live In that time we helped brands use Facebook webcasting as an effective platform for engaging and interacting with their audiences delivering hundreds of webcasts.
These projects could be as simple as streaming an interactive live event into a Facebook News Feed post to developing a fully interactive experience which allows viewers to participate and engage with the brand.
In April 2016, we were very proud to be announced as one of eight Live Video Solutions Partners by Facebook at F8 in addition to our Media Solutions Video Partnership. Since the announcement we have delivered hundreds of Facebook Live streams for clients ranging from the UN to Disney.
Regardless of the type of content we find that the level of engagement for Facebook Live streaming is far higher than for traditional webcasts.
Viewing times are higher, more questions are asked and all in all activity and interaction with the webcast is increased.
The Facebook tools we have developed based on the Facebook Live API for live interactive streaming we believe are unique. We offer full moderation of comments so that they can be used as a way to ask questions of the participants in a live stream. All comments are extracted from the relevant platform and put into our question moderation where they can be sorted both manually and automatically.
Once selected they can then be sent to the participants via an off screen monitor or onto a participant’s iPad. When it is answers the question and send of the question can then be displayed as an on screen graphic through the moderation control panel.
In addition on Facebook Live, we can offer the ability to ask the audience questions through polling. A question appears on screen and the audience vote for an answer by selecting the associated reaction. The votes are collated and the audience see the poll results animate in real time.
